I made a couple of phone calls yesterday re Fahrenheit 911. Let's see if my
memory serves.....
The young man I talked to at U-4 said there was no plan for those theaters
to show the film. He
himself was planning to drive to Spokane to see it. The person I talked to
at Eastside said
essentially the same thing. (Anybody know anything about Carmike? I think
this corporation
has no plans to show the film. In the meantime, it's possible to catch
Spiderman at 4 different
locations locally. So, it's not a profit motive that is in place here.)
At the Cordova in Pullman, the plan is to show the film in September after
the students get back.
They have a commitment to show each movie they bring in for 4 weeks, so they
need to know
that there will be that big an audience for it. When I called the Audian,
the person I talked to
didn't know what the plan was.
Hope this helps. It's a little information, anyway.
And here's an idea. When you do go to see this movie, take somebody with
you who is on the
fence politically, who doesn't vote, who gets information from TV or talk
radio. Let's try to expand the
impact of this movie beyond those of us who have the same sources that
Michael Moore does.
