Ms. Lund and Jordan:
Many people in this area, and all over the world, remember the cult founded
by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, who did "take over" a small town in eastern Oregon,
not so far from here. Once near Troy, Idaho I was picked up while hitchhiking
by a VW van filled with the red garbed devotees, who were most polite and
gracious, as I recall.
Isn't that how it is often? Cult followers are often more decent than many
people in "average" life, with the desire to believe in something good and real
that will lead the human race out of its pathetic trap of war, exploitation
and violence inspiring an outpouring of generosity and goodness. That is, till
the delusions and manipulations of the cult leaders work out the nefarious
calculus of power and deception they utilize to ensnare their followers.
