[Vision2020] Crony capitalism at the UI?

Allow me to rephrase Rose's questions, courtesy of Dame Rumor, because I
think they bear repeating. Can anyone on Vision 2020 (or the UI campus –
please feel free to forward this inquiry) tell me if it's true that:

A) A printing and duplications services company called Ikon has been invited
onto the UI campus to conduct a survey about how and/or if UI Printing and
Duplicating Services is meeting campus needs;

B) Ikon, which is conducting the survey, will receive the results directly,
tabulate them in house, and let the university know whether or not it should
outsource UI Printing and Duplicating Services to, say, Ikon;

C) Whether or not Interim President Gary Michael is a personal friend of the
president of Ikon; and,

D) Whether or not Interim President Gary Michael or anyone else in the UI
administration has considered the possibility that it might not be a good
idea to let a company that wants to sell you something conduct a survey
about whether or not you actually need what they're selling?

You'll excuse me if I've caught my mother-in-law's disease, Smellaratitis.
In the devastating wake of the Hoover debacle, anyone and everyone who
really cares about the University of Idaho ought to be asking a million
nosy, irritating, painful questions of the people running the place. Don't
accept the status quo.

A firm, if not uncritical, UI supporter,

PS: Ford Motor Company just called. They say they’ve conducted a survey of
my driveway and have decided that I needed a Ford F-150 truck with 4 X 4 and
a towing package. I thought my daughter needed braces, but I guess this
takes precedence.

PS #2: Vera White? Jim Fisher? Tom Trail, Shirley Ringo, Gary Schroeder?
A lot of rocks are getting turned over on the UI campus these days – who's
picking out the grubs?
