[Vision2020] outrage in our schools

I do not know the author of these serious allegations or at this point care.
If the allegations are substantially true, then the author needs to supply
to Vision 2020 verifiable facts --- names, dates, actions. If such facts
are not forthcoming then we ought consider the posting a hoax or an attempt
to divert attention from the recent appalling, spine-tingling revelations
about the Christ Church Cult by James Nelson.
When verifiable facts are confirmed and their magnitude is assessed, many of
us regardless of some of our differences can try to force action, just as we
will force action on the mysterious safe hijacking at Zume.
The allegation made is not preposterous. A few years ago a high ranking
Moscow Police officer was dismissed (but not prosecuted) for using pot.
This officer was in charge among other things of drug law enforcement at UI.
Unsubstantiated rumor from reasonably reliable sources at the time was that
the matter was much more serious -- involving sales to and usage by other
MPD officers and sales to non-MPD people including some UI employees and
students. [Many believe that the current city attorney, Randy Fife, by
resigning or being replaced would do all of decent Moscow citizens a huge
favor.]

To the vision 20/20 subscribers... To my alarm and horror it has become
apparent to me that the Moscow School district and the Moscow Police
department condone drug use in our schools by their employees, by their
students, as well as combing the two groups together for said activity.
When this course of action was brought to the attention of the appropriate
authorities, (i.e.) local law enforcement and the school district, I was
informed that there would be an off-the record "talk" with the alleged
suspect and that the theory of "out of sight out of mind" was a practice
alive and well within our school district. I am outraged and find this
sort of political malfeasance intolerable. Is there not a dedication and a
priority among the members of our esteemed school district to protect our
children and provide a safe and drug free atmosphere? And if not a priority
for the school district, should this not be among the top priority of our
law local enforcement officials? Someone please help me with this as I am
positively at a loss as to how I am suppose to entrust these people to care
for my children when they are away from the protection of my home.
