Do you think Richard Clarke is so great because he actually did a good job
or just because he said bad things about Bush? Or just because Clinton liked
him?

Ya' Know there were those who said things about Japan and Germany in 1945
like your comments here. Many skeptical people didn't believe they would
make it either. And I bet the 'democratic veneer' in Iran is just about to
take over there also.

Hi Pat,

Call Clinton any name that you want, but at least he had Richard Clarke
right at his side advising him about the terrorist threat.  Over a month
ago I heard Richard Clarke interviewed on NPR and he stated that he sent 44
memos to Bush the Small warning him of the Al Qaida threat, including the
August 6, 2001 memo, which any responsible president should have taken as
good reason to cut short a vacation and return to his post.  Bush asked for
advise on only one of those memos, and Condi told him that they "had it
covered."

And remember what Bush was asking about after 9/11: Not "How can we get
Osama?" but "How soon can we attack Iraq?"  And, Pat, Bush the Small did
indeed lie in the debate with Kerry when he said that he didn't care about
Osama.

And then people voted for Bush because of security and values!  All I can
say is that I'm deeply ashamed of the American electorate and what fools it
makes us in the eyes of the world.
