No problem with my alibi point...

The clone can't be in two places at once. One or the other
of the 'twins' did the crime. It would be relatively simple to
establish culpability. If this scenario were so perfect, why
don't twins, triplets, etc today routinely pull off this trick in 
order to escape prosecution? You are treating it like
the solution to a perfect crime, but that is not the case.
