The cascading effect of football conferences getting re-shuffled is that
three teams have announced plans to leave the Western Athletic Conference
and bolt to Conference USA. The WAC will soon be short of the NCAA
requirement of having 8 teams and has announced plans to raid the Sun Belt
Conference.
On one hand, the U of I has a chance to join a more western athletic
conference. On the other hand, what happens if the Sun Belt disintegrates?
