<DIV></DIV>&gt;&lt;&lt; Wow. One day the U.S. announces Umm Qasr has been taken. The next day
<DIV></DIV>&gt;the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;U.S. announces Umm Qasr has been taken (again). The following day the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;U.S. announces Umm Qasr has been taken ("for real" this time). But
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;seriously, Umm Qasr was not controlled by "coalition" forces any of the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;three times. I'd say each subsequent announcement was proof that the first
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;instance was false. Or did they re-take the city by means of friendly fire
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;on the subsequent occasions? &gt;&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Your report and my memory, after watching way too much war TV, did not say
<DIV></DIV>&gt;the U.S. government announced any such thing, just that it was reported by
<DIV></DIV>&gt;someone. I contend the MEDIA did it; again, jumping the gun to get, they
<DIV></DIV>&gt;believe, advantage over their competition.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;One thing the U.S. government has been careful not to do, which I believe
<DIV></DIV>&gt;they should, is announce the death of Saddam and let him prove them wrong; if
<DIV></DIV>&gt;he can.
