The District usually limits summer school classes to the basics, Math,
English and Social Studies.

Typically, it is C) kids making up classes they flunked the first time
around; athletes who want to regain their eligibility for the fall, or
failed juniors who want to graduate with their class the following year.

Although some students headed off to foreign exchanges or trying to
lighten up their senior year load will sometimes knock off a summer
class, too.
