[Vision2020] Now we have come to war

Luminaries:

Sadly, a quick end to this war will not happen.  The US will militarily take 
Iraq, of course, leading to a long term mess of trying to restructure and 
stabilize the area.  Iraq is just one part of the US agenda of remaking the 
middle east.  The "war" in the middle east will continue for decades.  I'm 
oversimplifying to be brief, but though many people make an effort to not 
cast the US war on Iraq as a war against Islam, in part it is, at least 
against the "extremist" position of Islam that stands against the equally 
"extremist" opposition of several other religions.

Hundreds of millions of Islamic believers around the world perceive this war 
as against Islam.  The political, social and ideological complexities 
involved make it certain that this war is sowing the seeds of future hatred 
and violence.  I'm sorry if what I am going to say insults anyone, but 
religious fundamentalism is involved in so much hatred and violence, 
including that 9/11 attacks, how can any reasonable person think that any 
fundamentalist religion should be off limits to criticism?
