Dear Visionaries,
Please join the Latah County Human Rights Task Force this Saturday =
morning for our annual celebration breakfast, co-sponsored by the City =
of Moscow. Here's some additional information... the breakfast is =
inexpensive and good; the company is tremendous. Hope to see you =
Saturday and that on Monday, you make it a "Day On for Human Rights," =
not just a day off.
All the best,
Linda Pall
The City of Moscow is partnering with the Latah County Human Rights Task =
Force to bring Alderman Joycelyn Johnson to Moscow as the featured =
speaker for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration Breakfast, =
"Building the Beloved Community," to be held at the Moscow Junior High =
cafeteria Saturday, January 18, at 9 A.M.
The theme of "The Beloved Community" is taken from Dr. King's sermons in =
which he advocated involvement, acceptance and 'loving kindness' among =
people to create the kind of inclusive community that allows people to =
fulfill their highest potential as citizens.
Joycelyn Johnson is a long-time city official, serving on their City =
Council since 1993. She has successfully made citizen outreach and =
economic development priorities in her service. She has been dedicated =
to revitalization efforts throughout Winston-Salem, especially the =
Liberty Street Corridor, Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive, Patterson =
Avenue and Downtown Winston-Salem. Among the many community service and =
humanitarian awards she has received are the 1997 North Carolina Black =
State Legislature Community Service Award and the Winston-Salem =
Chronicle Woman of the Year Award in 1998. She is a member of the =
National League of Cities Board of Directors and the National Black =
Caucus of Local Elected Officials and works as Community Outreach =
Coordinator in the Department of Physician Services at the Wake Forest =
University Medical Center.
See you at the Junior High Cafeteria Saturday!
Linda
