The anti-war play "Front" returns to the Hartung Theatre stage for a benefit
performance written and directed by Robert Caisley (UI faculty member)
Saturday, February 15 -- 2 p.m. matinee.

The anti-war play, "Front," written by UI theatre faculy member Robert 
Caisley, will return to the
Hartung Theatre for a benefit performance on Saturday, February 15 at 2 pm.  
All proceeds will
be used to help cover the cost of UI competing at the American College 
Theatre Festival
(ACTF).  "Front" was selected for the performance competition at the 
upcoming Region VII
ACTF in Bellevue.

Set in London during the Blitz, "Front" tells the story of a group of women 
living through the
socio-economic and emotional impact of World War II and its devastating 
effects on the home
front.  "Front" was selected by Pulitzer Prize-winner Lanford Wilson as the 
winner of the 1996
Freedom Forum Peace Play Award.  Since its premiere, it has been staged at 
theatres across the
country, most notably at the prestigious Sundance Institute Writers Lab, 
Philadelphia Arts Bank
Theatre, and most recently, by A Reasonable Facsimile Theatre Company at the 
Conservatory in
Chicago.
