It depends Dale. I know I didn't pay 40% of what I made last year in taxes.
If I did, I would be dead because you cannot live on that a year, LOL.
I also know that the rich do not pay that either. I would not be surprised if
a single male making 110,000 a year would end up spending 40-50% though.
I also know that the average taxes paid in the country is not 40%. If you add
the total amount of money earned by all households in the country and divid
that by how much all governments took in, it does not equal 40%. I think it is
more like about 33-35%.
