<DIV>Dale states again:</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>Also, you must have missed my post to Vision2020. I'm done talking about the </DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;slavery issue. That was completed two Thursdays ago. You'll have to keep
<DIV></DIV>&gt;that topic going without me.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Best,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Dale
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>Dale and I have corresponded offline on this issue, and I won't bring up his private statements here.&nbsp; I will repeat that I don't think the issue can be dismissed so easily.&nbsp; </DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>First of all, the town hall meeting, we were told by those controlling the microphones, was to discuss Christ Church and slavery, not Dale Courtney.&nbsp; I am quite sure that had questions about Dale's statements been raised at the meeting, we would have been told just that.&nbsp; It is utterly meaningless to claim that questions about Dale's posts should have been raised at the meeting, and that somehow we are done with the subject now that the meeting is over.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>More important is the fact that Dale repeatedly levelled vitiolic charges against the Daily News and the slanderous flier, often several times a day, over the course of several weeks.&nbsp; I think it is fair to ask him to publicly stand behind his statements now.&nbsp;&nbsp;All sorts of&nbsp;claims were made: the&nbsp;flier was slanderous, it made false statements, it was designed to start the next world war.&nbsp; When the flier was actually posted, its detractors disappeared.&nbsp; Why?&nbsp;&nbsp;Why not show us how the flier was wrong, now that we can all see it?&nbsp; Could it&nbsp;be that they could not, because the flier was none of the things they claimed it was?</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>If there was a time to say 'I'm done with this discussion,' let me suggest that it was before Dale's fifth or sixth post on the subject of the flier, though others may think it was before the second or third.&nbsp; After making as many statements as he did, I don't think he can walk away without being called on it.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>Why does this matter?&nbsp; Because it distracted attention away from what really mattered, which was the actual&nbsp;quotes in the Daily News article.&nbsp;&nbsp;I wasn't surprised by Doug Wilson's statements about slavery, since he had made the same statement on V2020&nbsp;some time back.&nbsp; I was stunned by the description&nbsp;of the antebellum South as a multi-racial paradise.&nbsp; I continue to wonder,&nbsp;since it wasn't discussed at the town hall meeting, how one could come to that conclusion.&nbsp; I still don't know the answer to that question.&nbsp; Can anyone tell me?</DIV>
