Dear Visionaries,

Although I sent one of the earliest =E2=80=9CThanks but no thanks=E2=80=9D p=
osts to Doug=E2=80=99s=20
invitation to attend his =E2=80=9CTown Meeting,=E2=80=9D I am now deeply sor=
ry I didn=E2=80=99t make=20
the effort. (and a giant penance it would have been.) to attend.  Others had=

told me that a woman was escorted out of the meeting amid shouts of =E2=80=
=9CShut Up and=20
=E2=80=9CSit Down=E2=80=9D  Thanks to Ruth=E2=80=99s email  I have a clearer=
 sense of the events.

Anyone who sat silently with their ass glued to their seat while the shoutin=

and escorting out was taking place shouldn=E2=80=99t shrink, in my opinion,=20=
from=20
placing their collective bums on folding chairs in the Logos gym every Sunda=
y=20
morning while Doug channels his weekly sermon from R.L. Dabney.  (Be sure to=

your wallets and pocket books for the offering.) In your silent assent you=20
were cooperating/supporting the racist, sexist, homophobic, patriarchal agen=

of Christ Church (pastor and communicants), or even more pathetically, falli=

prey to Doug=E2=80=99s purported charisma. Shame to you!  You were handed a=20=
classic=20
example of how dissent is silenced and yet, there you sat, either unwilling=20=

unable to protest =E2=80=93 failing to get up and walk out yourself.  It is=20=

that none of you excuse your inaction under the ruse of not knowing how to=20
respond to an awkward social situation, or wanting to avoid public embarrass=

That is pure baloney.  Spineless is the kindest descriptions that comes to m=
