Dear Visionaires,

About two months ago, Mr. Donovan Arnold and I were debating the issues =
of absolute truth, relativism, and various religions. I made the below =
statement,

"Their Koran says specifically that if a Muslim warrior dies fighting in =
the name of Allah, he will wake up in paradise with 70+ hot chicks for =
his pleasure."=20
Mr. Arnold replied, "Which verse in the Korean specifically mentions 'he =
will wake up in paradise with 70+ hot chicks[?]'"

To which I responded: "The wording isn't exact, but it is stated in the =
Koran. I'll find the verse."

Well, I finally got around to doing my homework to discover that I was =
somewhat incorrect. The verse comes not from the Koran, but rather from =
one of the Hadiths, which are part of the Islamic religious tradition. =
The actual reference is this:

The smallest reward for the people of Heaven is an abode where there are =
eighty thousand servants and seventy two wives, over which stands a dome =
decorated with pearls, aquamarine and ruby, as wide as the distance from =
al-Jabiyyah to San'a." (Hadith 2687, also also quoted by Ibn Kathir in =
his Tafsir (Koranic Commentary) of Surah Rhman (55), ayah (verse) 72).

It is true that in the 52nd and 56th chapters of the actual Koran =
(Qu'ran) do make mention of virgins for the faithful in paradise, but =
not as I had claimed. My apologies for the extreme tardiness of my =
follow-up and the inaccuracy of the original statement.

Sincerely,

Luke Nieuwsma
