Dear Visionaries,

You might be interested in this. If so, take a look.

All the best,
Linda Pall

Applications are now being accepted for the Natural Resources=20
Conservation Service's Federal Farmland Protection Program(FPP). The=20
Request for Proposals was published in the Federal Register on April 3,=20
2003.

The program was reauthorized in the 2002 Farm Bill to protect working
agricultural land from conversion to non-agricultural uses by the cost=20
share purchase of conservation easements with eligible entities. =20

The 2002 Farm Bill expanded the program beyond state and local=20
governments to include nongovernmental organizations as eligible=20
entities. It also makes farmland containing historical and=20
archaeological sites a high priority.

Details on eligibility and the application process are published in the=20
Federal Register. Proposals will be accepted for the next 45 days, and=20
are due May 19, 2003.=20
