Dear Parents,

We are counting down to the last few days of school. I can see that
city workers have the umbrellas in place at the pool, and summer league
baseball is well underway. Even though our student's hearts and minds
are on summer, we've got some important activities and final exams
planned before they exit the doors on the last day of school.

This week is busy with end-of-year activities. Our drama performance
will take place Wednesday, May 28 in the Multi-Purpose Room and the
public is invited to attend. Tickets are $2.00, and the event starts at
7:00 p.m. Most students will also have the opportunity to see a matinee
performance during school on Thursday, May 29.

Also on Thursday, May 29, students will receive their Yearbooks if they
pre-paid. Immediately after school, we sponsor a "Yearbook party" in
the fieldhouse. At that time, Yearbooks are distributed and students
will have the opportunity to visit and sign until 4:00 p.m., when the
activity ends. If your son or daughter didn't purchase a Yearbook, we
will have some available on a first-come, first served basis beginning
Friday at 8:00 a.m. Please come to the office at that time with $22.00
in check or cash. (No early-birds please)

Before Yearbooks are distributed, we will take some time to remind
students that it is important to write appropriately in each other's
Yearbook, but it is also important for you to do the same at home.
Students should not let their Yearbook out of sight, and should only let
those friends they trust write in their books.

On Friday, May 30, we will hold our end-of-year Awards Assembly. This
event takes place in the Fieldhouse at 12:45 p.m. We have some limited
seating for parents and recommend that you arrive before 12:35 if you
would like to attend.

Our last week of school is dedicated to final exams and locker
clean-out. We will be on our regular bell schedule and I've listed the
exam and locker clean-out schedule at the end of this letter. Over the
last several years, we have worked hard to keep our last days of school
productive and safe. To that end, we stress safe activities on and off
campus. On the last day of school we will check backpacks of all
individuals who enter the school to ensure that no disruptive items
enter the building. If a student doesn't want their backpack checked,
they should leave it at home. We also close the building immediately
after school and ask that students leave campus as soon as possible. If
students need to meet with a teacher, they are very welcome to make an
appointment to return on Thursday, June 5 for any make-up that is
needed.

Report cards will be mailed out during the week of June 9. Along with
report cards, you will receive the year-end edition of the Cub
Communicator school newsletter. The newsletter will include fall
start-up dates and other important information. As always, the
newsletter and this letter will be posted to our new and improved MJHS
website. Please watch the website during the summer for any updates and
additional information that will be posted as it becomes available.

As always, thank you for your kind support this school year. I am so
proud and honored to serve MJHS. It truly is an incredible school.
Have a great summer!

Sincerely,

Dale Kleinert, Principal

Moscow Junior High School
