Dear Parents,

A copy of the minutes from our October 2, 2007 meeting are below. Our next
meeting is November 6, 2007 at 7:15 a.m. in room 216. MSD Superintendent
Candis Donicht will attend to answer any questions you might have about the
November 13th school levy.

It's also time for the "Dinner and a Book" Initiative sponsored by the Idaho
Department of Education. The program encourages parents to spend time
building memories and skills for a lifetime of learning with their children.
There are two ways you can choose to participate: One way is to simply
purchase a new or slightly used book and donate it to the Dinner & Book
Collection box, which will be located on the first floor near the office
starting November 4th. A volunteer will collect the books from each
donation site, the first collection will be November 9th and the final on
December 7th. The books will then be taken to a local Food Bank where they
will be placed in designated holiday food baskets, for local families in
need, and distributed at both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Another way to support the program would be to give a monetary donation to
West Park Elementary School, and they will do the purchasing for you!
Monetary donations can be left in the MJHS office for the parent group, and
we will forward them to West Park.
