The next MJHS parent group meeting will be on Tuesday October 3rd, at
7:15am in room 201. We will be discussing the following topics:

T-shirts/Sweatshirts
Student Directory
Electronic Reader Board
Oct. 30th Cyber Bully family night session
October staff appreciation

Meeting Minutes
September 5, 2006

Meeting was called to order at 7:20 a.m. by Susan Mahoney.

Volunteer to take meeting minutes – Whistle Lash volunteered

INTRODUCTIONS:  New parents, returning parents and Jr. High staff
present: 		Dale Keinert, Principal, Kevin Hill, Vice Principal and Ken
Segota, Health 	Teacher and Staff Rep. to the Parent Support Team.

GROUP MEMBERS PRESENT:  Susan Mahoney, Faye Nagler, Marie Charles,
Whistle Lash, Peggy Jenkins, Joni Porter, Becky Ellison, Connie Paris,
Elizabeth Young, Sarah Lindgren and Lisa Morris.

FINANCIAL REPORT:  Susan Mahoney, currently the Parent Support Team has
$1200 in their banking account.  These funds are intended to be
allocated towards a reader board that the group is trying to obtain for
the cafeteria and if possible one for the hallway.

STUDENT DIRECTORY:  Data Entry for the student directory is set for
Thursday, September 14th from 5:30 - 7:30 in the basement computer lab
room 01.  Volunteers are needed to assist in the data entry of the
student directory.  Parking will be best in the tennis court parking lot
and lower entrance doors will be propped open for entry.

T-SHIRTS:  The parent group will sell t-shirts again this year.  This
year the t-shirt logo design will be a student art contest.  These forms
are in the 	office. The due date of the artwork is September 15th. 
Designs will possibly be narrowed down to 5 designs and displayed in the
cafeteria for student and staff voting. Orders for shirts will be taken
in October.  Same as last year they will be available in short sleeve,
long sleeve and on sweatshirts.  A second ordering may be conducted in
January.  A cost for the shirts is not available at this time until
design is completed.

VOLUNTEERS:  The following people volunteered to organize and execute
the following events.  These events/activities will still be in need of
additional assistance/volunteers to help.

STAFF APPRECIATION COMMITTEE (The breakfast group) – Marie Charles &
Peggy Jenkins have volunteered to head this event/activity.  The first
breakfast for the staff of Moscow Junior High is set for Wednesday,
September 20th.  Breakfast will be an every other month activity.
STAFF APPRECTIATION COMMITTEE - (non-breakfast months) – Connie Paris &
Elizabeth Young have volunteered to head these events/activities.
FUNDRAISING COORDINATER – This will be re-visited at the next meeting –
It had been decided not to plan any fundraising events at this time. 
Group will re-visit the need for a fundraiser and possible fundraising
ideas if the need arises.
FAMILY NIGHTS COORDINATOR – Faye Nagler volunteered to head this
position and Marie Charles volunteered to assist for Family nights.  The
first night is already planned and will be on Monday, October 30th,
Cyber Bullying.

PRINCIPAL REPORT: – The bi-weekly report is available to parents on the
web link through the Jr. High site.  Computer system – updating, caused
some minor delays on 1st week at school.  Student cards will have a
barcode that they can slide through reader for lunch.  This will speed
up the process of the lunch line.  Thursday, September 7th, 10 a.m. all
school assembly in the Field House.  Thursday, September 7th also will
be the back to school night for parents.  Parents are to meet at the
Field House at 7:00 p.m. with a short introduction of the night’s events
and parents will be dismissed to follow their child’s class schedule,
spending approximately 10 minutes in each classroom.  Friday, September
8th will be Jr. High School photos.  ISAT testing will begin Monday,
September 18th and lasting 3 weeks.

SEPTEMBER CALENDAR:
Thursday, September 7th, 10 a.m. all school assembly in the Field House.
Thursday, September 7th also will be the back to school night for
parents.  Parents are to meet at the Field House at 7:00 p.m. with a
short introduction of the night’s events and parents will be dismissed
to follow their child’s class schedule, spending approximately 10
minutes in each classroom.
Friday, September 8th will be Jr. High School photos.
ISAT testing will begin Monday, September 18th and lasting 3 weeks.

VICE PRINCIPAL REPORT: – 7th grade elections to student council will be
October 9th – 13th.  Two representatives from each color group will be
elected to represent their class in the student council.  These
representatives will assist during assemblies, talking to classmates
about Cyber Bullying, and other various things.  Monday, September 11th
will kick off Anti-Bullying.  Monday, October 30th will be the Cyber
Bullying assembly for the students, in the evening will be a follow up
with the parents to inform them about Cyber Bullying.  The parents will
be given the same information that the students were given.  Information
about Personalized calendars will be available for order by the
holidays.  People interested in creating a personalized calendar to
purchase will be given information on this when information is gathered.
 People can do these from their homes and they will be delivered to
their home addresses.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:05 a.m.

Next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 3rd, 7:15 a.m. in Room 201.
