Dear Parents,
Once again Moscow Junior High School will be participating in the
"Pennies For Leukemia" community service project. This project is
sponsored by the Student Council at MJHS. The objective of the program
is to raise funds in the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma, which
kills more children than any other disease. All proceeds raised from
this program will be used for research, patient services, and
professional education.
Last year, the students of Moscow Junior High School raised over
$3,600.00 which was donated to the Leukemia Society of America. This
donation was the result of one of many community service projects held
during each school year at MJHS. The donation was also the largest
donation of any school in the state of Idaho to the Leukemia Society.
Through this project and others, our students are learning how to help
people by caring and giving assistance where it is needed.
This year's fundraiser will take place at MJHS from March 28 through
April 1. Your child will have the opportunity to donate each day during
their second period class. We will have special days to bring pennies,
nickels, dimes, and quarters. Checks and cash are also welcome. If you
send a check, please make it payable to the Leukemia Society of America.
Students should only bring donations from home and family. Door to door
solicitation is not allowed.
The school will participate in a building-wide competition and prizes
will be given throughout the week for classes that donate the most in
various categories. Your child will have more information about the
daily competitions. We are proud of our students and the caring
attitude that they've developed. Your assistance in this project will
show that you support their efforts.
If you have any questions, please contact me via e-mail or give me a
call at MJHS.
Sincerely,
Dale Kleinert
Assistant Principal
MJHS
