Dear Parents,=20

The first day of school is getting closer and closer. Each fall I see
birds beginning to flock, and I also notice that kids do the same thing.
More and more groups are riding their bikes through the parking lot, and
hanging out on the lawns. The same thing is going on with teachers.
Several have been in the building preparing, and I have also heard that
they're getting together off campus for planning meetings. It's pretty
exciting to see.

This is the second of a Bi-weekly "Letter From The Principal" that will
be placed on the MJHS website at:
http://www.sd281.k12.id.us/Schools/MJHS/index.htm, and also will be
mailed through the MJHS Parent Support Team Listserve. It will provide
information that will help keep you informed about activities here at
school. In addition, the "Cub Communicator" with more specific
information is posted at the same link as this letter. It will also be
mailed to each MJHS student household later this week.

School starts on Wednesday, August 31. Please see the Student Handbook

7th Grade and New Student Orientation=20
Before school starts, on Thursday, August 25, a program will be held in
the MJHS Field House to provide some specific information to help new
students begin the school year successfully. Seventh grade students and
parents may come at 6:45pm to pick up their class schedule. (Schedules
will not be available for any eighth and ninth grade students until the
first day of school.) The program begins at 7:00 pm, and will end about
8:00 pm. At that time, students and parents will have a chance to walk
through the main building. This is an opportunity to see where classes
will be held and to locate the student's locker. The office will not be
open that evening for business transactions.

Counselors and new student registration - Our counselors will return to
school on Monday, August 22. If you would like to register your son or

Since my last letter, our new Assistant Principal, Kevin Hill, has
arrived. He is a fantastic resource for students, staff, and families.
I couldn't be happier having him here helping to make MJHS an incredible
