This is a reminder that our monthly call is scheduled for Monday, August 21, 2017 - beginning at Noon.

Our speaker for Monday's CLE will be Mr. Brent A. Winans, CPCU, ARM who will be presenting on the topic of Ordinance and Law Insurance - Understanding the Gaps and Getting Them Covered.

Ordinance and Law insurance comes in a variety of forms, but it is usually found as an endorsement to a property insurance policy.  However, when agents discuss this coverage with their policyholders, policyholders want to know why they need it and how much they should buy. Because those answers are complicated, a lot less ordinance or law coverage is purchased than is needed to adequately manage the risk that evolving laws, ordinances, and codes present to property owners.  Mr. Winans will discuss these concerns as well as provide a helpful understanding of the risk potential of incidents requiring Ordinance and Law coverage.

Mr. Winans is currently the Vice President of Clear Advantage Risk Management, and is based out of Delray Beach, FL.  He is a risk management consultant and expert witness with extensive risk management, insurance brokerage and insurance coverage experience.  He is also a testifying and consulting expert witness on insurance agents' errors and omissions claims and insurance coverage issues.   Mr. Winans is a regular contributor of "expert commentary" articles on Ordinance and Law coverage issues and on insurance agents' errors and omissions issues for the International Risk Management Institute (www.IRMI.com<http://www.IRMI.com>).
