Title: Business Interruption Basics - Not so basic in practice

Mr. David J. Maldoff, Esq., is a Partner in the Tampa office of Butler Pappas Weihmuller Katz Craig LLP.  Mr. Maldoff will be speaking on business interruption insurance and coverage issues, including such topics as Period of Restoration; Extension of the Period due to Adjustment Delays and Construction Delays; and Extended Business Income Coverage.  Mr. Maldoff's presentation will provide a thorough overview of the spectrum of coverage issues that arise with business interruption policies as well as discuss some of the leading decisions interrupting such policies across the nation.

Mr. Maldoff practices primarily in the defense of first-party property coverage matters. These matters often involve claims and lawsuits by homeowners, condominium associations, and businesses for property damage and business interruption losses caused by windstorm, sinkholes, fire, theft, and collapse.   Mr. Maldoff has lectured at seminars conducted by the Property Loss Research Bureau (PLRB) and Harris Martin Publishing.  Mr. Maldoff received his Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from the University of Florida in 1999 and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2003.  He was admitted as a member of The Florida Bar in 2004 and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the Middle District of Florida and the Northern District of Florida.
