While I do not recall any standard, I would think that any actual cost incurred could be deducted. I don't think that a Landlord has the right to keep any portion just because it got the refund, unless the Landlord or an employee personally filed and argued the appeal. In that case, FMV of the services.

Hello everyone:

I have a commercial landlord client who recently won an ad valorem tax assessment appeal and got back a sizeable amount of money.  Is there any standard regarding the proper amount that the landlord can retain to cover the cost of appeal and how much needs to be distributed back to the tenants?  My initial thought would be no, but I thought I'd ask the audience.
