Folks,

This is a reminder of our monthly Insurance and Surety Committee Conference Call and CLE scheduled for Monday, April 18, 2016, at Noon.

Attached are the following: (1) the Agenda for our April 18th Meeting; (2) minutes from our February 16, 2016 meeting; (3) minutes from our March 21, 2016 meeting; and (4) the CLE presentation materials for Monday's call, which include the subject Opinion and the relevant briefs that Mr. Whelan provided for circulation.

Our CLE speaker on Monday will be Ed Whelan, Esq., of Regan, Whelan, Zebouni & Atwood in Jacksonville, FL.  Mr. Whelan will speak about the recent decisions in Mid-Continent Casualty Co. v. Treace, out of the 5th DCA.  This is a recent and interesting case concerning a successful appeal and reversal of the trial court's refusal to find that the Plaintiff's award for attorneys' fees were covered under MCC's CGL policy.  Mr. Whelan successfully handled this case on behalf of the ultimately successful homeowners.  Mr. Whelan is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law and focuses his practice in Construction Litigation and Arbitration, Business Litigation, and Real Property Litigation.
