Ladies and gentlemen,

As many of you know I am a strong proponent of arbitration of construction and commercial disputes unless you can't get all necessary parties to agree to arbitrate.

The lawyers get to choose a knowledgeable trier(s) of fact and generally have much more control over the proceedings.

People have had horror stories with arbitration, most if not all of which could be eliminated by
a) good choice of arbitrator(s), and
b) a well drafted arbitration agreement (just agreeing to arbitrate pursuant to a set of rules is a good start, but not enough).

The attached brochure is for a seminar put on by the College of Commercial Arbitrators and the AAA. The speakers, but for the AAA speaker, are all fellows in the College of Commercial Arbitrators. Without speaking for myself, they are all knowledgeable and entertaining. If you have the time and wish to see how arbitration works well, this seminar will be worthwhile.
