When posting on this discussion board would members please erase all the extra notices, warnings and crap the IT people and committees at our various firms insist we append to the end of our emails? Many of us have these discussions “pushed” to our phones and wading through screen after screen of useless junk is annoying (just like this message).

Thank you,

The preceding email message is not confidential, and can’t possibly be protected by the attorney-client privilege. It is intended for transmission to, or receipt by, any unauthorized persons. The author of this email is attempting to use humor to achieve a goal. Any attempt by the recipiant to infuse or infer even a modicum of seriousness to this communication should (i) not read it, (ii) reply to the sender that you have no sense of humor, and (iii) erase or destroy the message. Legal advice contained in the preceding message is specious at best and benefits nobody - especially client(s) represented by the Firm. In fact, even the author will not rely upon any advice contained herein. Internal Revenue Service regulations are a joke, we all know it. They might require that certain types of written advice include a disclaimer – well, screw the IRS I say. But, to the extent the preceding message contains advice relating to a Federal tax issue, only a moron would follow it. You’ve been warned. Further, if you think anything in this communication could be used by the recipient or any other taxpayer, for the purpose of avoiding Federal taxes or penalties, you’re an idiot.
