Steve: I've been asked this question probably 20-30 times and I have found no evidence that such a statute exists.

Subject: [CLC-Discussion] Residential contractor warranty

Hello folks,

I have a relative who is a residential contractor. He made
reference to what he believed was a statutory requirement that residential
builders provide a warranty of a minimum of one year to the owner. Most of
my practice involves commercial payment issues (i.e. liens and surety bond
claims). I reviewed Fl. Stat. ch 558 but did not see such a requirement.
Is anyone aware of such a statute and, if so, could you provide a citation?

Thank you very much.
