<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Listmates, I enter the murky world of government responsibility and would appreciate your input. Client has an industrial property with parking lot drains that go into a public stormwater system. It has
been in place since forever. City does work on the main line and crushes the pipe from the client’s property. Instead of fixing it they just disconnect it. Not a surprise that the client property now floods every time there is a “ rain event” to use the
City’s words. The City, being magnanimous, has told the client that they will make a special exception and let them reconnect the pipe that the City broke and plugged. But client needs to pay for everything, including permits, engineering etc. north of
$30,000. Anyone have any experience advancing the you broke it you buy it theory with a government entity? As always, your insight is appreciated. Craig
