<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">I still don’t understand how you’re allowed to give a 90 day notice to sell a single family home, but not a condo.  Does the legislature not know what a condo is? They might not have any in Olympia.  It’s
 basically a single family home in an urban downtown area where there isn’t enough space to put single family homes for the entire population that lives there.  No one wants to buy a condo in downtown Seattle with tenants already there.  If someone does, it
 substantially reduces the sale value.  I understand the difference between a single family home and a condo generally, but not how it’s applicable to that specific law.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p>Correct. I have clients leaving rentals empty in Seattle rather than continuing to take the risk of providing housing.  Once the law encouraged owners to take the risk by assuring them they could take the property back on short notice if the rent was not
 paid or the property was at risk. Opposite is true now--safer to sell the house and invest elsewhere.<o:p></o:p></p>
