<p class="MsoNormal">This bill is under consideration in this 2021 Session (well, soon will be). As written, a SLAPP motion to dismiss could appear in LUPA appeals as one example or a neighborhood matter where a neighbor complains to the local government
about someone as two examples.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I think there should be an exception for “real estate cases” (this term is used in the broadest sense). Something like this comes to mind: “this Act does not apply to
<span style="font-size:12.0pt">civil suits or claims brought to </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt">establish or declare possessory rights, use of property, recovery of property, quiet title to property or related claims relating to real or personal property.”</span><o:p></o:p></p>
