He is with the Clallam County assessor’s office and deals with forest land classification issues. He wants about a week to review the property to see if it qualifies for that classification. If your client does not yet have one, he will ask they have a forest management plan prepared and submitted to him for review. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>In the past we would email Jim with the property information and let him know the client wants to continue the forest land classification. He would then review his records and contact us with any questions or requirements to continue the classification. I have not done one since the shutdown so do not know how to actually get him the excise tax affidavit for him to sign off on, before it goes to the treasurer’s office. We cannot walk into the treasurers, assessor or auditor’s offices. When recording deeds we put all the documents, excise tax affidavit, deed, taxes and fees, into an envelop provided by the auditor’s office and place it in their drop box. You should ask Jim about their procedures. You can probably mail in the documents, but to whom does it go first?
