<p>So legislation motivated by political beliefs cannot be
discussed? The lawyers that framed our republic did so as a
political act. Destruction of ownership rights in the name of
class struggle should not be a "good" beyond discussion.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Hi all. As the Washington member of our
firm, I’m looking for information on the subject Seattle City
Council bill. This is the second order, following the Mayor’s
earlier order, adopted by the Council on April 13 and signed
by the Mayor on April 17. There was a bit of press on the 13th,
but none since then even though the Mayor signed it. It
contains some pretty aggressive requirements on rent relief
for and repayment by “small business” and “nonprofit”
commercial tenants. I’m very surprised I haven’t seen more
“buzz” about this if it has become effective. I’d love to
hear if members of this list have any understanding whether or
not this ordinance is in fact in place at this point. Thanks.
