The employee has not repaid the loan and is believed to be living here in Hawaii. The Promissory Note ["Note"] signed by the former employee provides that if payment of the Note is not made in full by the due date, that the unpaid principal will accrue interest at the maximum rate allowed by law. The Note also provides that the governing law is that of Washington. As I do not have a license to practice law in Washington nor am I familiar with Washington law, I need to consult with a Washington lawyer to be advised as to what is that maximum rate.
