<p class="MsoPlainText">Listmates: PC needs a referral. PC' gets new job buying computers for new company. So, PC: 1) buys computers on her credit card, 2) new company transfers funds directly to credit card company to reimburse PC for purchase of computers,
3) PC calls credit card company to confirm funds received and credit card company confirms, 4) PC then ships computers to new company in Florida. This worked for about $60,000 worth of merchandise. On the last transaction, PC calls credit card company to
confirm receipt of funds and speaks with the "fraud division" who insists that credit card company has the funds and there is
<i>no way</i> for the new company to claw back the funds. Wrong! As it turns out, while the credit card company
<i>says</i> they have the money, they don’t physically have the money. So, AFTER PC confirms the receipt of reimbursement funds and AFTER PC ships the product to the new company, new company pulled the funds out of the account and PC is left holding the bag
for the credit card bill.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText">New company is now in the wind. Reports have been filed with local police department and with FBI (an online process.) Credit card company (huge national bank) says too bad, so sad, but you still own us $26,000 on your credit card.
So, does credit card company have any liability or exposure here? Any takers or referrals to take on credit card company? Suggestions?<o:p></o:p></p>
