<div style="direction: ltr;font-family: Tahoma;color: #000000;font-size: 10pt;">This is the redemption statute that governs how those redemption quotes need to be calculated is RCW 6.23.020.  It is silent on costs to improve the property that are not necessary
 to protect the property from an interim foreclosure sale.

<div>Are the rights to redeem transferable via quit claim deed made after the judgment? The term successor in the statute (rcw 6.23.010) includes successors to the judgment debtor, but if the redemption period was 8 months chances are the plaintiff in the foreclosure
 case waived their rights to deficiency and the foreclosure decree was entered "in rem" not against a judgment debtor.  There might be an argument that the post judgment transfer doesn't qualify as a "successor" as defined under the statute and intended by
 the legislature.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">My clients purchases it at the sale. But unbeknownst to them, the debtor quit claimed their interest to an investment group in June. The investment group is now
 claiming their right to redeem the property. They gave notice on June 27, and want to redeem by July 15, 2016.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">My client obtained a hard money loan and was going to refinance after the redemption period. Unfortunately, they put in 30k for repairs and moved their elderly
 parents into the home. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">I believe they are entitled to the sums they paid for the loan, payments paid during this period and interest. But are they entitled to the sums they paid to
 improve the property? What about costs of relocating their elderly parents? </span>
