Presuming the LLC owners are not the same people then yes. Transfer of a controlling interest in an LLC that owns real property is a taxable event.

If an LLC owns a house which is run as an AirBNB, and desires to sell the business and the house to another LLC, would the buying LLC have to pay excise tax if it bought all the membership interests of the selling LLC instead of the house, specifically?
