Dear All:
Happy Friday afternoon!
PC contacted me with the following scenario. I can't take on the case. Please let me know if any of you can. Thanks.
Our house has flooded twice in the last three months. The disclosure form 17 is marked No for flooding. The previous owners only owned the home for three years, so maybe it did not flood during their time. We were told if the owners before them disclosed that the home did flood, we should have been told before buying. Our home is currently un-livable due to the flooding and King County said it will take 2 years to get a permit to lift the home. King County also informed us that permits from previous owners were started and not finalized. Due to the changing of owners, no follow-up to close the permits were completed - they gave no specifics. We were told because of this there maybe be a lot of red flags for codes that are not up to date. They flat out told us the process to get this particular permit and all that is required to do to raise our home will be overwhelming and an excessive amount of stress. We bought a lemon that no-one in their right mind would buy for risk of flooding again. (we do not want to sell now, but maybe down the line. we have already invested so much time, money and energy in that home for the short amount of time we've lived there) Is this something you can help us with?
