Yes, lovely Justin Trudeau put in place a "Foreign Buyers Ban" for 2 years, starting 1/1/2024.  May be renewed.  Certain areas are "exempt", like Whistler as a resort and recreation property area.  I know this stuff well, as I have owned a condo in Whistler for 28 years.

Listmates,  I have a client that wants to purchase a piece of property in British Columbia.  He is being told that as a US citizen he is not allowed to purchase property in Canada.  Is this true?  If so is there  a work around like using a trust or corporation? Thanks, Craig
