Craig,
I have done a number of sale/transfers in New Mexico, where I also practice.  In those instances, the Mexican trust interests (Fideicomiso, as you mentioned) are held in a NM LLC.  I haven't handled one for a transfer to an heir, so I'm sure what is involved with that.
