I suggest you get yourself appointed as successor PR since the only action needed to complete the probate is the distribution you were going to try to do yourself anyway

Subject: [WSBARP] Weird probate situation
Hi All,
I have a probate in which my client completed the probate administration and signed the declaration of completion. She was a beneficiary of a small amount and there is only one other primary beneficiary. Other beneficiary signed waiver of notice and receipt.
Client passed away the day after signing the declaration before she was able to make the final distribution.
I brought a motion and the court granted an order for Chase bank to wire the funds into my firm trust account so that I could make the final distribution rather than appointing a new PR.
Chase, of course, will not honor the court order. I did look at RCW 30A.22, the Financial Institution Individual Account Deposit Act which I am guessing is the grounds for not honoring the Order as there is no provision that directly addresses this situation.
There is a backup PR listed in the Will who is a family friend. However, there has been a lot of conflict in this probate and could potentially cause more conflict in the appointment.
Short of having the named-successor PR appointed and re-opening the Probate, does anyone have any other suggestions on how to get this money distributed?
Thanks in advance,
Paige Buurstra
