You need to domesticate your Washington judgment in California and then run your garnishment the state of California. iT has different exemption rules then Washington and therefore you're Washington garnishment would not work however from experience I would like to point out the California has not adopted the revised uniform enforcement of foreign judgement act but it has a similar process. Good luck

Subject: [WSBARP] Garnishments
Listmates, Anyone out there a garnishment guru? Short facts we have a Washington judgement against X. X has a Washington judgment against Y. Y is refinancing his Washington house and must pay X. We want to garnish what X will receive. First issue is that Y's refinance of the Washington property is being escrowed in California? Can we serve a writ on a CA company without perfecting our judgment into CA? Everything is located in WA except the escrow that will be processing the funds. Thoughts?
