Yes. It's an annoying and a tedious process. There is nothing "continuing" about continuing lien on earnings. Have to start over every time.

Subject: [WSBARP] Garnishment - Continuing Lien on Earnings - Questions about renewing garnishment

Hello Fellow Listservs,

I had a garnishment question and I figured it's a longshot, but I'll ask anyways.

The court issued a writ of garnishment on a continuing lien on earnings to allow my client to collect on a judgment. After serving the first and second answer to the employer and then obtaining the judgment on Answer and payment of the employer withheld funds - my question is would the client have to re-start the process and reserve the 1st and then 2nd Answers again on the Employer or will the employer automatically continue to withhold?

It seems that a new 1st and 2nd Answer must be resent to the employer and the process done again, but if anyone has experience with garnishments on wages, I'd be very appreciative of any guidance or insight that you could provide on the process.

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,
Michael S. Safren, Esq.
