[WSBARP] RPPT Executive Committee Legislative Update

Members of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section:

Thank you for your participation in the Section!  The Executive Committee appreciates the thoughtful dialogue the members engage in in on regular basis through the Listservs.

The Executive Committee for the Section writes to inform the membership that it is advancing a proposal to the Board of Governors to propose legislation in the upcoming legislative session regarding the removal of the requirement for the acknowledgement of leases for a term longer than one year.  This proposal was suggested by one of the constituent members of the Section and approved at the Executive Committee's June 3, 2023 meeting in Walla Walla.  A copy of the cover sheet submitted to the WSBA Legislative Review Committee is attached to this email.  This proposal will be considered by the WSBA's Legislative Review Committee on October 4, 2023.
