Listmates,
Client purchased a property from a person that received the property in a
divorce settlement. The ex-spouse refused to vacate the subject property
when client bought it. Client successfully evicted the ex-spouse still
lives next door to the subject property with their new significant other.
Client bought the house to flip it. Ex-spouse refuses to acknowledge the
sale to client and, along with their new significant other, has been
harassing and interfering with client's contractors and got into a verbal
altercation with client when client showed up at the property. Client is
sure that the ex-spouse is going to interfere with prospective purchasers as
well when the property is renovated and put on the market based on the
ex-spouse and significant other telling the client that was their plan.
What options are available and what would you do in this situation? Thanks
in advance for your thoughts on this.
Sam
