Hi Michael,

I’m looking for an attorney for a improper installation of windows by Homedepot for a residential property.

Back in July, 2019, I purchased the 9207 15th Ave NE Seattle WA, 98115 property. On July 27th, right after the purchase was closed, I contracted Homedepot to install all the windows—21 or 22 in total. From measuring sizes to final installation, per the salesperson and their contract, the windows were supposed to be completed by October 2019. However, due to wrong measurements and wrong materials, Homedepot delayed the whole project’s completion until February 2020. With all the stress Homedepot had caused, I simply took their small $2500 compensation for the delay because we’d have to live in a house with windows that were unable to close during the wintertime.

In the winter of 2021, I saw water leaking from the wall which poured down from the ceiling of our porch, and I thought something was wrong with the roof. After the roofing installer’s assessment, I was informed that the water leakage was due to the windows. On February 21th, 2022 we knew for sure it was the windows leaking water through the interior wall. I called, texted and emailed the Homedepot manager, responsible for the project installation back in 2019. I received no response from him and I contacted the original salesman and He promised to get back to me and also connect me to the Homedepot management team to resolve this problem.

Through Him I found out another manager was responsible for scheduling an assessment of the windows and scheduling their repair. After an entire month, the only thing I knew for sure was that Homedepot sent a window assessment person over, who told me that the water leakage was due to improper window installation, and all of them would need to be put out and redone. Since the 21th of February, I haven’t heard back from Homedepot on what the next steps are and how long it will take them to schedule some repair. My husband and I called and left many messages and also contacted the manager’s boss, we only knew as Jo. So far, none of them have responded to our calls nor gotten back to us with any further actions to take. The only person I’ve managed to get in touch with is the salesman.

At this point, we have no idea how bad the damage is for our interior walls, and only more water will deteriorate them as it rains; our front entry-porch has a hole in the ceiling; we have a wedding coming up in June; this unhandled project has put our lives on hold. We’re looking through our options, and would you please recommend someone who may be able to assist us?

Thank you!
