[WSBARP] Setting up a lender

All:

I have a client who is interested in lending to foreign nationals buying property here in the USA and wonders what steps are necessary to set such an enterprise up.  While an LLC is easy enough, and so is private paper, I have no idea on how to establish a lender as an entity and am skittish.  Any referrals to counsel that I could make on this topic would be appreciated.
