[WSBARP] Transfer of remainder interest.

We deal in remainder interests all the time. Many of them are in leasehold estates, which seem functionally very similar to a life estate. We also routinely transfer them from individuals to different types of entities. I can't see any reason why a remainder interest in a life estate could not be transferred to an LLC.

Subject: [WSBARP] Transfer of remainder interest.

Listmates, During the holidays I posted a query but don't recall any responses, or maybe I just don't recall them! Client wants to transfer their remainder interest in a life estate to an LLC. I can't think of a reason why not but have never done it before. Anyone think of a reason why this cannot or should not be done? Thanks!! Craig
