Friend has filed a products liability lawsuit in Island County (poorly designed part in a huge rock crusher) using a Seattle construction attorney (discovered this later). Some discovery has taken place but no depositions yet. Defendant in Midwest (Wyoming or Montana). Mediation has failed and the mediator (retired judge) says Plaintiff should easily win lawsuit. Now, the Seattle attorney says client should hire an attorney closer to Island County in order to avoid the Seattle going rate because it appears the case will need to go to trial (and there doesn't appear to be any atty fees provision.) Any suggestions?
